Changelog

What changed in credited, newest first. 73 changes since 6 September 2026.

3 changes

  1. The home page shows how credited works with a real project: the client's site, the one line in its source, and the profile row it adds, then the sites carrying the line right now, what the study found, the portfolio it builds, your coding agent doing it for you, and the page a client sees
  2. A new navigation bar and footer across the site, lined up with every page, with a box in the footer to check who built any site from wherever you are, and the same buttons, fields and corners on every page. Your profile and project pages keep a quieter version of both
  3. Your profile says it the way your project pages do: each project is "confirmed since" the month its site first carried your line. Your numbers sit larger under your name, your links are a row of small buttons, and your GitHub README takes the same type as the rest of the page

7 changes

  1. A project's panel on the dashboard has one Overview, with the featured switch and position once the site is verified; from then on there are no tabs, and the install instructions and the check history wait behind a fold and a link. On a phone, the tag to paste wraps inside its box
  2. A project's page reads in plain words for your clients: who built it and since when, the site's screenshot first, a short "How do we know?" that says in words how often the site was checked and found, and the technical proof (the tag, the command to check it, every check) folded away for developers
  3. Your profile and your project pages end with a shorter footer, so your work isn't followed by a list of credited links
  4. The home page says it in plain words: you built the site, paste one invisible line, put it live, and your profile says you built it. Beside it, credited's own record instead of a made-up profile: who built it, since when the site confirms it, and the line you can find in this page's source
  5. Your profile reads as an index: numbered rows with the site beside each one, and no longer the same green pill on every row, only "no longer live" where it applies; under your name, what the crawler found, from checks passed to the date of the last one
  6. Signed in, the home page takes you to your dashboard instead of asking you to sign in again
  7. A link to credited shared anywhere previews the pitch and the one line you paste, not a made-up developer

17 changes

  1. A new mark: a dark tile with five lines like film credits, yours in green. It's the icon in your browser tab and sits next to the name at the top of every page
  2. The checker finds the tag on sites that redirect more than once, such as a bare domain that goes to www and then to a language page
  3. /study links the script that did the crawl, so anyone can read how we counted
  4. The image viewer shows the site in a browser window with its address, as large as your screen allows
  5. The image viewer fills the screen, with the whole page in miniature beside it: click the miniature to jump
  6. A project's panel on the dashboard is quieter: one line of facts, one check button, and Retake screenshot in the Edit menu
  7. Click a project's image to open it large, the whole page when we have its full capture
  8. Featured projects on your profile get a showcase: the site in a browser window, on a panel tinted by its own colours
  9. A page that doesn't exist now says so and points you to the checker, instead of a bare error
  10. Link previews of a project name the developer who built it
  11. The Markdown version of your profile and projects reads as clean text: apostrophes stay apostrophes, and a project without updates has no empty section
  12. The dashboard keeps to what gets a site verified: your projects on the left, one project at a time on the right
  13. Signing in with GitHub asks for nothing beyond your public profile
  14. Every screenshot now says when it was taken: the receipt and the profile show the date each capture was taken next to the image, so the evidence dates itself instead of looking frozen
  15. The link preview of your profile now follows your work: when a project is added, verified or removed, the social card X, LinkedIn and Slack show updates too, instead of staying on the card they cached when you first shared the link
  16. The card credited shows when a page without your data is shared now matches the site's current copy
  17. Featuring a project and choosing the order of your profile are open to everyone

3 changes

  1. credited now introduces itself as your verified portfolio — every site you shipped with a verified date, NDA work included without the name — instead of leading with what you can't show
  2. /dashboard/import: tick the repos you shipped and every site with a homepage becomes a project, name and description drafted for you
  3. Headings on the public pages now sit at a calmer weight, corners are one small radius everywhere, and the small uppercase labels read as one voice

2 changes

  1. A project with a long domain keeps its name readable: the domain shortens with an ellipsis and drops the www.
  2. The full page capture opens at its own height, without a blank block under a short page

1 change

  1. Your profile reads properly on a phone: the site and its status sit under each project instead of squeezing its name, and a long description no longer pushes the list off the page

2 changes

  1. credited.dev/site/<domain> takes you straight to the page for whoever built that site
  2. /study: we crawled 5,000 sites to see how many of them say who built them, with the method, every credit we found and the whole corpus to download

2 changes

  1. Your handle, GitHub toggles, availability, contact links and badge moved to their own Settings page, off the dashboard
  2. A project named after its own domain no longer prints the domain twice

5 changes

  1. The dashboard walks a new project from tag to verified in its own panel
  2. Free URL checker at /check: paste a site and see whether it carries a credited tag
  3. Dashboard shows a numbered onboarding path (project added, tag found, handle set) until your first project verifies, then a short list of what's still missing
  4. "Get in touch" and "Book a call" buttons on the profile
  5. Changelog laid out as a ledger, footer redesigned into two groups

18 changes

  1. JSON-LD structured data on profile and project pages
  2. sitemap.xml for every public profile and project
  3. Markdown mirrors of every profile and receipt at /{handle}.md and /{handle}/{slug}.md
  4. At-risk state: a warning on the first missed verification check
  5. llms.txt: the index AI agents read first
  6. Project social image and title now say "verified since" and the month the site was first confirmed
  7. MCP docs page: every tool, with the config for each editor
  8. Header and footer now keep one width on every page
  9. Share your profile or a receipt: copy the link, post on X or LinkedIn
  10. /recent: the last 50 projects that just got credited
  11. SVG badge at /{handle}/badge.svg
  12. Availability: open to freelance, employment, or either
  13. New page: credited vs a portfolio site, a README and LinkedIn
  14. /stats: credited's own numbers as a page
  15. Screenshot history: every monthly capture kept, so you can see how a site changed
  16. MCP tools aligned with the dashboard; the custom image URL setting is gone
  17. Project updates: one line per shipped change, posted by the agent through the MCP
  18. Full-page screenshot on the receipt: click the image to open and scroll the whole page

10 changes

  1. Signing out also clears the dashboard from the browser's back button
  2. Settings toggles no longer reload the page
  3. Copy: credits, not authorship
  4. Project role: built it, or worked on it
  5. Team credits through the /.well-known/credited.json file
  6. Project preview pulled from the site's own og:image, hover card in CSS
  7. Verification reads the whole page <head>, so a tag placed late in a long head still counts
  8. Portfolio profile: featured projects shown large, with a thumbnail and a description each
  9. Receipt: last seen moved into the facts, the confirmations log is gone
  10. Real screenshots of every site, taken after the tag verifies

3 changes

  1. New favicon: a C with a check badge
  2. Link previews: a brand card, and a per-profile receipt card
  3. GitHub contribution calendar on the profile
